As Vice President, Carla provides oversight for strategic capacity-building engagements and helps drive the overall growth and development of the firm.

Carla has 20 years of experience developing and managing capacity-building initiatives to help accelerate results for social sector organizations. While at the Center for the Study of Social Policy, Carla oversaw a collaborative planning process that led to the development of an evaluation and shared learning plan for The California Endowment’s signature health equity initiative. In this role, she also managed the design and delivery of technical assistance for cohorts of federally funded Promise Neighborhoods with a network of staff, consultants, and national partners. Prior to that, she worked with colleagues from FHI 360 to oversee implementation of the Postsecondary Success Collaborative and provide technical assistance to local partnerships in three cities. She also served as a research assistant with the John W. Gardner Center for Youth and Their Communities, contributing to a formative evaluation of emerging community schools and investigating cross-sector collaboration as a community change strategy. Prior to that, Carla managed a three-year Ford Foundation initiative structured as a learning community of twelve organizations and four international fellows who generated insights about civic activism as a strategy for youth development.

Carla holds a Master of Science in community services management from Andrews University and received her Ph.D. in education from Stanford University.
