Rachel Hutt

Associate Director

What inspires me: Quiet leadership, used to improve the lives of others

I do what I do because: The problems are big, the solutions are complex, and I believe we each have a role to play in making this world better

I think the world would be better if: We all listened deeply to one another, especially when we disagree

Core Expertise:

  • Facilitating diverse teams and collaboratives
  • Leadership coaching
  • Strategic planning
  • Organizational assessment and capacity building

As an Associate Director, Rachel Hutt leads organizations in creating strategies and building capacity, partnering with clients to achieve meaningful change in both big and small ways. Rachel’s core expertise is in facilitating diverse teams in thinking boldly and making decisions, as well as coaching leaders in guiding their organizations through change.

At Community Wealth Partners, Rachel has guided numerous nonprofits in developing strategies to achieve bold visions in a way that brings diverse stakeholder groups into agreement. This has ranged from partnering with a Baltimore-based organization to clarify and more boldly articulate its strategy for addressing race-based structural barriers to economic opportunity, to facilitating a highly inclusive listening and strategic planning process for a national mental health organization. She also partners with foundations, such as the Kresge Foundation, and national nonprofit networks, such as Communities In Schools, to better understand and build the capacity of their grantees or affiliates.

Prior to joining Community Wealth Partners, Rachel was committed to bringing the joy of reading to children around the country through her work at Reading Is Fundamental (RIF). At RIF she led key initiatives to improve organizational systems, making it easier for kids to access engaging books. Rachel has served on the board of a local Jewish social justice community and LearnServe International, which equips diverse groups of young people with business planning and social entrepreneurship skills and empowers them to make change in their communities.

Rachel has a B.A. in Sociology from Columbia University, where she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
