Mariam Mansury

What I am most proud of: My first-generation Afghan-American family. Their work ethic, generosity, and humor have profoundly shaped me.

I felt most courageous when: Training military officials in Kabul, Afghanistan on how to incorporate local communities in security and reconstruction efforts.

I do what I do because: The dream lives.

As a Consultant, Mariam Mansury leads client engagements, advises and coaches leaders, and spearheads internal teams to develop solutions and deliverables through research and analysis. Mariam has extensive global experience, working with high-level government officials and leading NGOs to design, implement, and evaluate national security and development strategies. She has deep expertise in strategic planning, coalition building, and monitoring and evaluation. Her work in Afghanistan was featured in Dr. Valerie Hudson’s recent book, “The Hillary Doctrine: Sex and American Foreign Policy.”

Mariam spent a decade at Swanee Hunt Alternatives, a prominent family foundation that has contributed more than $100 million to achieving social change at the local, national, and international levels. There, she traveled to almost 20 countries, advising high-level officials on issues of gender and inclusion. She regularly trained US and international military officials, both here and abroad, on how to integrate community-based perspectives and priorities into their work.

Mariam has a B.A. from Boston College in Political Science and Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies, and a M.P.P. from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
