As communications manager, Lauri Valerio works to communicate sector trends and learnings from Community Wealth Partners’ work to the most interested audiences in the most effective ways. She creates and edits content including case studies, articles, blog posts, social media posts and proposals.
She has written on issues of community development, education and health through her work with news media outlets and within nonprofit organizations. Lauri has core expertise in targeted communications, editing and long-form writing, and a passion for telling a good story.
Prior to joining Community Wealth Partners, Lauri worked in the social sector as the Manager of Young Adult Engagement at United Way Worldwide, where she oversaw key marketing and strategy for engaging young adults, and briefly with IDEO.org, where she helped manage the translation of the Design Kit. Formerly as a journalist, Lauri was Associate Editor of Dallas’ Advocate Magazine and wrote for the New York Times Student Journalism Institute and American Way Magazine, publishing articles on the front page of the Lakeland Ledger, among other publications. She also served as a Fulbright scholar in Argentina.
Lauri has a B.A. in English, with a Creative Writing concentration, from Pomona College.
