Program Manager of Major Accounts
What inspires me: Listening to peoples’ stories of triumph over trials and inequities stacked against them.
I feel most courageous when: I engage and speak with people whose thoughts, perspectives and experiences are different than my own.
I do what I do because: I am passionate about social change.
As program manager of major accounts, Karla Morrison manages one of our primary accounts and supports other accounts as needed. She tracks the overall portfolio of work, manages the design and implementation of an executive coaching program, oversees the budget, and supports our coaching team in delivery of coaching to clients.
She has worked with nonprofits to create change for communities of color, particularly in education and workplace diversity. Karla has deep experience in program management, client relations, meeting facilitation and diversity and inclusion recruitment. Her training and experience in organization development has allowed her to lead projects that helped leaders build stronger organizations both domestically and internationally.
Most recently, Karla was Senior Program Manager at T. Howard Foundation where she led a team through the recruitment, training and coaching of college students of color in media industry internships. During her tenure, over 500 students participated in the Internship Program and gained experience and guidance to help them pursue their professional goals. She also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Burkina Faso. Before moving overseas, Karla worked at Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, where her role supported the organization’s mission to diversify the financial services and philanthropic industries.
Karla has B.A. degrees in Communications and Art Studio from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in Organizational Development from American University.
